Update again: there is an item limit per week, on average you now get 8-10 items; idle tool still works if you just want to you weekly allowance of items otherwise its shit

Since Valve in it's infinite wisdom decided with the latest updates to the Spy and Sniper class to no longer make the new weapons/items something you work towards, they have instead created a community of idlers. Yes, with the latest patch to Team Fortress 2 Valve made the decision to have new item/weapon unlocks no longer something you achieve but instead something you randomly get as you play. The result has been ugly, with everyone trying to find a good method to idle the game to increase their chances of getting the new stuff.

Well Drunken F00l over at SourceOP has developed a small application that runs in DOS that connects you to a TF2 server and does all the idle work for you, without you loading the game. You still get to suffer through the constant duplicate items (32 hours of idling here and all I have got are duplicates so far of shit I already had), so it's still not a perfect solution to Valve's stupidity, but it's the best there is so far.

The program is legit otherwise it would not be posted here, so don't bother asking if it's safe, it is. So enjoy spending the next two weeks idling TF2 with the rest of us.

New version is out, automatically deletes dupes, shows how many items are given per minute, pretty nice.

BUT valve just realized how much they fucked and added milestones, so this is useless unless you want hats.
